Giacomo Goldoni designs private apartments and hospitality spaces between Barcelona, London and Italy. His references reach well beyond design, into art, photography and film, and the work is richer for it.
He trained in photography and the moving image in London before turning to interiors. That training gave him an eye for light, framing and sequence, and it is still where every project begins.
Before anything is modelled or rendered, there are drawings: studies of light, texture and proportion, made by hand. It is a slower way to start, and often the first thing clients notice. Then come the options, laid out side by side, with the one he would choose and why.
On this site, drawings, renders, photographs and references sit together.
London · 2019 · 69 m²
A renovated Victorian flat in London. One deep green, Farrow & Ball's Card Room Green, runs from the bedroom to the hallway and the bathroom and holds the rooms together; pale wooden floors keep it light.
Palma · 2021
An old courtyard house in the centre of Palma. The idea was to give it back a forgotten grandeur: reclaimed floors and architectural elements, walls hand-painted by an artist, with trompe-l'œil architecture, wallpapers and many plants. Downstairs, a spa finished in Mallorcan stucco, with no right angles and an oval pool; a kitchen in aged brass and Piedra de Torre.
Ciutat Vella, Barcelona · 2025 · 78 m²
An apartment in Ciutat Vella, Barcelona: a new glass partition between the living room and the bedroom, and a bathroom reimagined in a modernist key, with a fine floor of hydraulic cement tiles and antique fixtures and objects, in keeping with the rest of the furnishings.
Puglia · 2025 · 32 m²
Thirty-two square metres in a pine wood by the sea, in Puglia. It is one wing of a larger house, set apart from the rest by a wide patio. The idea was to keep the Apulian vernacular character, while the masonry kitchen and tiled worktop borrow from Catalan interiors, which have long informed the studio's work in Barcelona.
Poblenou, Barcelona · 2026
An Italian deli in Poblenou, Barcelona. The idea was a neighbourhood place, half Catalan and half Italian: vintage furniture, a counter dressed in a fabric skirt, plates hung on the walls, pans on hooks, wood and ceramics, like a grandmother's kitchen brought into a shop.
Segrià, Lleida · 2026 · 240 m²
The interior design proposal for a single-family house to be built in the Segrià, near Lleida. The idea is an 'autumnal' house, inspired by the stage of life the owners are in and by the landscape around it: earth, wood and stone, inside as well as out. Kitchen, living and dining room wrap around a terrace with a pool; the bedrooms keep to a wing of their own, beyond a glazed patio. Alongside the sketches, a few reference images gathered for the project.
Lecce · 2026
An old palazzetto in Lecce, the grandparents' somewhat regal house, where a couple is now going to live. They want to make it their own without betraying what they have inherited: the work is an update that tries to keep the character of the house and much of what it holds, adding what is needed to live there today. The first intervention is a new bathroom, shown here as a render. In the garden, a stone tool shed will become a guest annex.
Poble Sec, Barcelona · 2026 · 53 m²
The renovation of a 53 m² apartment in Poble Sec, Barcelona, with the architect Manuel Bordas Fàbregas. Some partitions come down, the original floor is recovered, and the kitchen is organised around a freestanding volume.
